Soil test results

For those who were unable to join us for our last garden meeting, we wanted to share the results of the garden soil test we did several weeks ago ~

pH = 7.0
phosphorus = sufficient
potash = sufficient
nitrogen = deficient

The interpretation for these results is that nitrogen is the only nutrient that needs replacing and this is common.

If you're interested, here is a great link with specific advice on when and how much nitrogen to apply from the Colorado extension service ~ https://extension.colostate.edu/topic-areas/yard-garden/fertilizing-the-vegetable-garden-7-611/

and a link from the U of Vermont extension with some useful information on soil pH ~ http://pss.uvm.edu/ppp/pubs/oh34.htm.
